Bonjour,
Que pensez-vous de l'avenir de Powerbuilder suite au rachat de Sybase par SAP ?
Quel sera son avenir dans le futur ?

Dear Sybase Customer,
As you may have heard, on May 12, 2010, SAP and Sybase announced that SAP and Sybase have entered into an agreement for SAP to acquire Sybase. We understand that an acquisition can be an uncertain time for our customers, so I would like to share with you what you can expect over the coming months and what this combination might mean to you and the working relationship you have built with Sybase.
We believe the combination of the two companies will provide several benefits to you. The merger of existing technologies will result in a stronger offering (for example, in-memory capabilities for databases, front end tools for analytics, and SAP’s vertical applications for our mobile middleware). Further, you will benefit from richer and faster innovation driven by more engineering resources working on infrastructure server technologies. Finally, Sybase and SAP share core values that you have come to expect from us, including a passion for innovation and an unwavering focus on customer support.
Sybase will operate as a standalone unit under the name “Sybase, an SAP Company.” The post-acquisition management team will be mainly composed of current Sybase management. I will be nominated to join the SAP Executive Board. This transaction is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
SAP and Sybase believe that our customers will benefit from this unique combination which brings two information technology leaders together to achieve a common goal: to enable companies to become “unwired enterprises,” in which critical information and applications are available on any device, at any time.
Since our founding in 1984, Sybase has grown into an industry leader in delivering enterprise and mobile software to manage, analyze and mobilize information. With $1.2B in revenue and over 4,000 employees worldwide, we are recognized globally as a performance leader, proven in the most data-intensive industries and across all major systems, networks and devices. This would not have been possible without your trusted partnership. I thank you for your business and look forward to our continued success as Sybase steps forward on this new path. As always, your success is very important to us, so if you have questions, please contact your local account representative.
Sincerely,
John S. Chen
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
